The President of Eastern Maine Medical Center, Donna Russell-Cook, FACHE will be the featured speaker at the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, Womens Leadership Lunch on April 13th.  Donna will share her lessons learned in life and leadership after more than 25 years in healthcare administration.

Join us to learn about Jean, the leader, the person, her goals and dreams and what she would tell her "twenty-something" self now.  Deb Neuman will serve as our "Facilitator Extraordinaire".

Function in the hospital: Donna Russell-Cook is president of Eastern Maine Medical Center. She is also the Executive Sponsor of the Cardiovascular Service Line at EMHS and Co-Chair of the EMHS Clinical Systems Optimization Steering Committee.
 
The road to here:
 Donna has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare administration, working in physician practice, for-profit and non-profit organizations and health systems. Donna is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. She received her Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska.
 
In 2009 Donna left her first position at EMMC to become CEO of the Oklahoma Heart Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After a couple years in the south, Donna headed to the Pacific Northwest. In 2012 Donna left Tulsa to become Hospital President and System Service Line Executive for CHI-Franciscan Health in Tacoma, Washington. In Washington, she was awarded the American Hospital Associations Grassroots' Award in 2015 for her tireless efforts at the state and federal level advocating for hospitals in rural and urban settings. After making her mark in Washington, Donna recently returned to EMMC in July of 2015.
 
What she’s trying to do: "In my role, I feel that I can make a difference every day for all who walk through our doors, whether receiving care, providing care, or supporting someone receiving care. Giving support to the communities we serve is very gratifying work."
