Job Summary:

The Coordinator initiates and supports day-to-day functions, as well as strategic imperatives, that support quality and performance improvement initiatives of Acadia Hospital and Acadia Healthcare.

The Performance Improvement Coordinator's scope of responsibly encompasses all settings of the organization. The coordinator will have intimate familiarity with the key elements of the Acadia and EMHS strategic plan, a detailed understanding of the annual Performance Improvement Plan. The Coordinator will skillfully use the techniques of system design, reengineering, project management, quality improvement, outcomes measurement, and statistical analyses to advance goals and objectives of the Plans.

The Performance Improvement Coordinator is responsible for turning data into knowledge by making data meaningful to multiple audiences. The Coordinator supports process and outcome improvement initiatives by providing support and consultation to senor leadership, committees, operations groups, and taskforces. Additionally the position assists with creating and/or redesigning processes using measurement and identifying opportunities for improvement in clinical and operational areas.

Job Requirements:

·Bachelor's degree in health sciences, healthcare administration, or management-related field required; Masters preferred.

·A minimum of three (3) years working experience in quality and/or performance improvement or project management; preference for healthcare experience and working knowledge of CMS and Joint Commission quality/performance measures.

·Certified Professional of Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), LEAN, or Six Sigma preferred.

·Crystal Reports, MS products including Excel, MS Access, and a statistical software such as SPSS or SAS/JMP. Knowledge of Business Objects also preferred.

Other Skills Required:

·Depth of knowledge of the Plan-Do-Check-Act performance improvement cycle or Research Cycle (tools of continuous improvement)

·MS Access knowledge, including ability to write queries , macros, and reports
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.

·Ability to perform statistical analysis and understand the appropriate applications of interpretive statistics, display of data using graphical techniques such as scatter plots, histograms, bar charts, trend lines. etc.

·Team development and facilitation techniques applied to quality improvement or project teams to achieve their highest potential.

·Organization and planning, managing multiple demands, and achieving results.

·Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
