JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Program Specialist will support the development, implementation, and management of clinical quality initiatives for Beacon Health, NLH, and their members. The Quality Program Specialist supports the strategic workplans and business objectives as they pertain to clinical quality data management including but not limited to:
•Medicare MSSP/MIPS
o Clinical Quality
o Promoting Interoperability
o Improvement Activities
•Medicaid Meaningful Use
•Other Regulatory and Reputation Programs e.g. Leapfrog, Joint Commission, CM Accreditation, etc.

The Quality Program Specialist reports directly to the Beacon Health Quality Program Manager. The Quality Program Specialist will work closely with the IT and programming experts and Quality Assurance Auditors. For Beacon Health functions, the Quality Program Specialist will work closely with both NLH and non-NLH members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.*Partners with Quality Program Leads and Manager to identify quality programs that require further development and management
2.*Collaborates with Beacon Health's Quality Program and Data Leaders to initiate work plan to meet business objectives as they relate to quality programs and data management
3.*Assists in leading complex business and quality departmental projects to ensure successful outcomes; implements practical strategies and plans to carry forward an idea or methodology from conception to execution
4.*Works together with staff from across Beacon Health and NLH to research specific program issues. Utilizes best practices and performance improvement strategies to develop solutions
5.*Submits necessary documents timely and in accordance with regulatory requirements. Cascading information both ways.
6.*Designs and leads meetings, interviews, and workshops with a range of audiences including both internal and external participants
7.*Translates complex, difficult or potentially contentious issues into clear options, appraisals and reports, tailored to the audience
8.*Provides analytical and problem-solving techniques with the ability to prioritize problems and demonstrates resourcefulness in their resolutions
9.Knows and follows organizational and departmental policies and procedures applicable to assigned duties.
10.Participates in required organizational and departmental patient safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational patient safety.
11.Reports serious events and incidents in accordance with established hospital policy and procedure.
12.Performs other duties as delegated by management for which the employee is qualified
to perform.
13.Demonstrates self-motivation with an ability to work independently, prioritize needs, pay attention to detail, organize complex processes, think creatively, and interact in a professional manner
14.Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with members, physicians, other medical disciplines and management staff.

REQUIREMENTS:
•Associates degree
•5 years of business or project management experience required
•Understanding of the health care delivery setting required; clinical experience preferred
•Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred
•Must have knowledge of Database software; Project Management software; Workflow management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
 
EDUCATION and TRAINING:
•Work is typically performed in an office environment. Independent travel to various sites required.
•Experience with large enterprise projects. Demonstrated leadership among peers. Expert on Project Management methodology and processes.
•Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
•Excellent active listening skills.
•Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
•Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.
•Must have knowledge of Database software; Project Management software; Workflow management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
